Event Description: 

Introducing plants and their role in woodland. Aimed at the keen beginner and improver the course will concentrate on identification using key characteristics. By the end of the course participants will be able to recognise the major groups and have an understanding of how woodland plants are adapted for their habitat.

This course will be held in the well-equipped yurt on the beautiful RSPB Coombes Valley Nature Reserve in the Churnet Valley.

  • It costs £50 per person inclusive of VAT.
  • Lunch and refreshments will be provided in the yurt included in the price.
  • It will be partly field based so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
  • Attendees can be issued with a certificate of attendance if requested on the booking form
  • The course will run from 10.00am until 16.00pm

This course is open to anyone with an interest in plants. It would be useful to the amateur naturalist/botanist aswell as CPD for professionals.
