The building of The Churnet Valley Guide Site began in 2016 as a project within the Churnet Valley Living Landscape Partnership (CVLLP), an HLF funded programme. The Churnet Valley Guide is developing into a community and visitor resource. We want people to discover, share and enjoy ... and contribute to keeping this site up to date.
The aim is to have a comprehensive, online archive of the recorded features in the region. These have all been checked and updated as part of this project. Now we just need to get every single recorded feature online with its official PRN number. This involves all the man-made heritage features and some of the landscape features being added from a huge stack of paper records, most of which don't have photos. We have a couple of volunteer helpers who dip in when they can, but we need more. So if there is anyone interested in volunteering some data entering time, please do get in touch... it is very interesting! And also, those of you who are handy with a camera, please do add photos to the online archive pages.
This project and the ongoing management of the site is managed by a technical and editorial team fromĀ Waymark.
